Executive Director, Brazil- U.S. Business Council
POSITION OVERVIEW: Manage the Brazil-U.S. Business Council, a membership organization, within the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, of more than 100 U.S. companies committed to expanding trade and investment with Brazil.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Set policy and programs; build alliances and coalitions in the United States and Brazil; represent U.S. business community’s views to the press; liaise with executive branch agencies concerned with Brazil; prepare testimony and testify; oversee council operations and finances; identify and develop strategies to achieve council’s objectives; manage staff and recruit and retain corporate members; develop and support U.S. Chamber initiatives vis-à-vis Brazil, and maintain close ties with Brazilian Embassy, U.S. Embassy in Brasilia, and AmChams in Brazil.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years’ experience in international business, business organizations, and U.S. government economic and commercial activities; strong knowledge of economic and political relationships in Brazil; experience with policy development, including trade, intellectual property, and taxation; excellent verbal and written communications; skilled in public speaking and in directing major events; bilingual (English and Brazilian Portuguese); and flexibility for frequent travel. Advanced degree preferred.
