The ongoing political crisis in Brazil calls for the Council and its members to realign and discuss how to continue advocating for important fiscal and structural reforms in Brazil and the continued commitment to the bilateral relationship.
The Honorable P. Michael McKinley, U.S. Ambassador to Brazil, and the Honorable Sergio Amaral, Brazil Ambassador to the U.S., are both confirmed speakers who will discuss the status of the bilateral relationship and the path forward to strengthen the economic ties and friendship between the two nations.
Council staff will review and introduces the political and economic scenarios in Brazil and introduce the 2017-2018 Program of Work to members and government officials. Officials from various U.S. government agencies have been invited, such as Department of Commerce, Department of State, White House, National Security Council, Energy, Treasury, US Trade and Development Agency (USTDA).
