BUSBC Roundtable with USTDA Brazil Representative Rodrigo Mota

On October 4, 2011, the Brazil-U.S. Business Council (BUSBC) will host a roundtable discussion with Rodrigo Mota, the United States Trade & Development Agency (USTDA) Brazil Representative. Mr. Mota will speak with BUSBC members about his work in Brazil and hear from members their perspectives and issues in Brazil.

Rodrigo Mota is responsible for developing and implementing the agency's economic development programs throughout Brazil as well as managing on-going activities and tracking previously funded activities in the country.

Rodrigo has accrued over a decade working for the United States government in Brazil. Prior to USTDA, Rodrigo worked for the U.S. Foreign Commercial Service (USFCS) in São Paulo for over eight years, monitoring and coordinating two of the organization's most demanding industry sectors, General Industrial Equipment and Transportation/Logistics. During this period, Rodrigo authored numerous economic and commercial development reports aimed to assist new-to-market U.S. exporters to adequately plan and export their products and services to Brazil. In addition, Rodrigo authored the USFCS-Brazil's first Intellectual Property Rights Guide and tool kit.

By way of background, Rodrigo holds a bachelor’s degree in International Trade Administration, and an MBA in International Trade Management from FGV – Fundação Getúlio Vargas University which has a dual certification agreement with the US University of Chicago. Rodrigo is fluent in English and Spanish.
