The Brazil-U.S. Business Council was pleased to host a debriefing session on the U.S.-Brazil Commercial Dialogue meeting on September 22, 2010, in Washington, DC . The debriefing provided companies with an opportunity to hear first-hand the priorities that both governments will establish in the context of the Commercial Dialogue. Event participants also gained a better understanding of opportunities for private sector engagement as both governments work together to implement the Commercial Dialogue agenda.  The debriefing featured remarks by the Dialogue’s co-chairs, Francisco Sanchez, U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade and Welber Barral, Brazil's Secretary of Foreign Trade. The co-chairs were joined by Ambassador Thomas A. Shannon, Jr., U.S. Ambassador to Brazil, who provided additional remarks on the Dialogue and on U.S.-Brazil bilateral relations.

The U.S.-Brazil Commercial Dialogue, an initiative of the Department of Commerce’s International Trade Administration, works to improve the global business environment and help U.S. companies and workers compete at home and abroad. The Dialogue features working groups comprised of experts from both governments that develop recommendations to advance bilateral trade and investment between the United States and Brazil.
