In order to assist professionals operating in the Latin American energy market (concessionaires, large energy consumers and producers, governments, regulatory agencies, equipment manufacturers, providers of measurement, control and automation systems and solutions and R&D entities) to find integrated and definite business solutions, aiming efficient energy usage and appropriate financing, ECOee and RPM Brasil will hold the 4th edition of SMART GRID FORUM/2011 - IV Smart Grid Latin American Forum on November 29 - 30 and December 1st, 2011, at Frei Caneca Convention Center, in São Paulo, SP - Brazil. The theme of this edition will be “Growing or Modernising the Infrastructure: The Challenges of Tariffs and the Environment”.

The 2010’edition was attended by 46 speakers, 15 of which were international; 12 sponsoring companies and 27 support entities, from the most representative segments of energy. The Forum was attended by 320 delegates who participated in the conference and another 300 who visited the exposition. That demonstrated the great interest on the matter and the need for its articulation and development in Brazil and all Latin America.

The Forum’s greatest objective is to track global technological progress in the smart grid area, then summarize the results obtained and articulate actions to create conditions to implement the technologies. This articulation involves the mobilization of solution providers, energy companies, regulatory and government policy agents, financial agents, consumers and overall society.
