ShareThis

U.S. infrastructure-related companies are invited to participate in a business delegation visit to Pernambuco, Bahia and Rio de Janeiro organized by the Infrastructure Working Group from Date: TBD.

The purpose of the visit is to expose participating companies to opportunities to participate in infrastructure projects in these three states, all of which have major investments planned in ports, airports, roads, railways, hotels, water & wastewater, oil, gas, petrochemicals, and a host of other areas.  More information on these sector-specific opportunities will be made available in the members' area of the Brazil Council website.

The Council's established relationships with the federal, state and local officials in these three states will also provide delegation participants with the chance to get acquainted with decision makers and gather detailed information directly.

Highlights of the delegation visit include:
  • Conversations with the Governors of Pernambuco, Bahia and Rio states and presentations by their top infrastructure-related cabinet members;
  • Meetings with the Mayors of Recife, Salvador and Rio de Janeiro and the officials managing infrastructure-related investments.
  • Information sessions with key federal financing institutions BNDES and Banco do Nordeste, as well as representatives of the federal airport operator INFRAERO and port operator Docas.
  • Meetings with the Olympic Public Administration, the new federal institution charged with implementing the investments recommended by the IOC.
  • Individually-tailored matchmaking sessions in each state, organized by partners AmCham, FIEPE, FIEB and FIRJAN.
  • Introductions to key partners and potential clients such as Petrobras, Braskem, Odebrecht, Andrade Gutierrez and EBX;
  • Opportunities to discuss with top officials policy changes that would encourage greater private investment in infrastructure, using the Working Group's White Paper as a starting point for the conversations.
