Brazilian President Michel Temer on Tuesday began a week-long visit to China saying his main task there will be attracting Chinese investment to Brazilian infrastructure projects. In a video-taped statement, Temer said, “China could well be a great source of investment in the concession projects announced last week.” Last week, the Brazilian government announced a package of 57 concessions and privatizations covering a wide variety of infrastructure projects. Temer said China has expressed special interest in power, highways, rails and ports. Temer will begin his trip with a state visit to China then stay on for a meeting of BRICS countries heads of state. The BRICS countries are Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa.
