Brazil’s National Petroleum Authority (ANP) on Friday voted to open bidding on acquisition of more than half of the natural gas provided by the Brazil-Bolivia Gas Pipeline (GASBOL). The ANP opened a public comment period on the bidding model and will offer the natural gas by the end of the year. The ANP will make available up to 18 million cubic meters of gas per day out of the pipeline’s total capacity of 30 million cubic meters. The other 12 million cubic meters will remain under current contracts. Bidding for the 18 million cubic meters will include companies wishing to tap the natural gas themselves as well as companies wishing to sell the gas to others.
