Brazil cuts tariffs on 413 goods, covers $663M in imports

Brazil’s Foreign Trade Council (CAMEX) has slashed tariffs to zero on 413 capital goods and technology inputs, the government said Monday. CAMEX issued the order Friday. The goods covered by the order account for an estimated $663 million in annual imports. The items include 385 capital goods and 28 products related to Internet and telecommunications technology. The purpose of the order is to reduce costs and encourage investments in Brazilian industries including manufacturing, energy generation, food packaging and capital goods.
