Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro will visit his U.S. counterpart, Donald Trump, in Washington in March, the Brazilian chief executive said in a television interview Thursday night. In his first televised interview as President, with the SBT network, Bolsonaro said the March visit was set up during talks earlier this week with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo. Pompeo attended Bolsonaro’s inauguration Tuesday. Bolsonaro said defense and security cooperation were high on the U.S.-Brazil agenda. Bolsonaro said, “A U.S. military base (in Brazil) might be something to discuss at some point in the future.” The Brazilian President added, “We would also be very pleased if President Trump visited Brazil.”
