Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro on Monday signed eight bilateral investment, defense and technology accords with the United Arab Emirates, part of a lengthy tour of Asian and Middle Eastern countries. Later this week, Bolsonaro will visit Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Monday’s accords cover technology exchanges in areas such as defense, energy and artificial intelligence technologies. The UAE pledged to help finance Brazilian research, development and manufacture of defense and security-related products. The two countries also created a joint business and trade consultation mechanism.
