Brazilian industrial output was down 1.3% in September against the previous month and 10.9% against September of 2014, the sharpest year-on-year decline since 2009, the Brazilian Census Bureau (IBGE) said Wednesday. The decline was led by motor vehicles and capital goods. Brazilian industrial production has been hurt by high levels of consumer debt, persistent inflation and rising interest rates. September marked the fourth monthly decline in a row for industrial output.
