A special Brazilian Chamber of Deputies committee on Monday night voted 38-27 in favor of a motion to impeach President Dilma Rousseff. The motion will now go before the full Chamber of Deputies for debate and a final vote. The full Chamber could vote as early as this coming weekend. Impeachment by the full chamber requires a two-thirds vote of the 513-member house, or 342 votes. A poll by the Estado de São Paulo news agency showed 298 members currently on record favoring impeachment, with 119 opposed and the rest undecided. Rousseff is accused of irregularities in managing the federal government budget.
