Support for Brazilian President Michel Temer has sunk to an historic low of just 5%, according to a poll released Thursday by the Brazilian Public Opinion Research Institute (Ibope). The poll was paid for by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI). A similar poll in March showed support for Temer at 10%. Thursday’s poll showed 70% of respondents calling the Temer administration “poor or very poor.” That was up from 55% in March. Thursday’s poll was the first since prosecutors aired allegations of corruption against Temer. According to poll-takers, Brazilians are also worried about continued high levels of unemployment, high taxes and poor government services.
