  • Latest Ibope poll: Bolsonaro 57%, Haddad 43%. Just days before Brazil’s presidential run-off vote, the Public Opinion Research Institute (Ibope) released its latest poll showing some slippage in support for front-runner Jair Bolsonaro. The poll shows Bolsonaro at 57% of valid votes, down from 59% in the previous poll. Challenger Fernando Haddad rose two points to 43%. Brazilians vote Sunday. (see more)

 

  • Bolsonaro pressures Temer to leave key regulatory posts vacant. Hard-right presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro has asked incumbent President Michel Temer to leave key banking and regulatory vacancies open. Bolsonaro is front-runner in Brazil’s presidential election and would like to fill the vacancies himself. (see more)

 

  • Two more Cabinet members endorse Bolsonaro. Two more Cabinet members have endorsed hard-right presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro. They are Culture Minister Sérgio Sá Leitão and Tourism Minister Vinicius Lummertz. (see more)
