- Ibope poll shows further consolidation for Bolsonaro, Haddad. Hard-right candidate Jair Bolsonaro and leftist Workers’ Party (PT) nominee Fernando Haddad have tightened their grip on first and second place in Brazil’s October 7 presidential election. A poll released Monday night by the Public Opinion Research Institute (Ibope) showed Bolsonaro garnering 28% of voter intentions, with Haddad at 22%, up from 19% in the previous Ibope poll. Third place candidate Ciro Gomes trailed at 11%, with all other candidates in single digits. If no candidate wins an absolute majority on October 7, the top two face off three weeks later. (see more)

A Monday night poll by the Public Opinion Research Institute (Ibope) showed leftist Workers’ Party (PT) nominee Fernando Haddad with a clear advantage over hard-right candidate Jair Bolsonaro. Haddad would garner 43% of the vote against 37% for Bolsonaro. The poll showed Bolsonaro’s rejection rate at 46% with Haddad’s at only 30%. (see more)
