As we start gearing up for our 2018 activities, we would like to invite you to a meeting to discuss the priorities of the Council’s 2018 Healthcare Policy Agenda.
In preparation for this meeting, we ask that you consider the following items as potential priority areas:
1- Engagement with the National Council of Municipal Secretaries in Brazil (CONASEMS – http://www.conasems.org.br/) and specific states rather than the Federal government.
2- Expansion of the studies on healthcare in Brazil supported by the Council, to include:
a- Impact of informal caregiving (using an upcoming GIHE study with specific information on Brazil).
b- Impact of poor infrastructure (focus on traffic accidents).
c- Impact of specific diseases/therapies (based on updated infographics done last year by specific companies).
3 – Role of innovation in strengthening the healthcare system and the economy.
4 – A “Wellness Program” similar to ones done by GIHE.
Additionally, let us know if you have comments/revisions to the new proposed mission statement and objectives for the healthcare agenda:
The Healthcare Policy Agenda seeks to engage key Brazilian government stakeholders to lend industry expertise to the development of health care policies that strengthen the Brazilian health care ecosystem and bring high quality care to Brazilian patients.
– Highlight economic impact of non-communicable diseases on the Brazilian economy.
– Emphasize the role innovation can play in strengthening the healthcare system and the economy.
– Promote cooperation between the U.S. and Brazilian governments on health-related matters.
In the interest of using our time efficiently, kindly provide any feedback/comments to Renata Vasconcellos regarding the proposed mission statement and the proposed objectives by COB Friday, January 12. Please come prepared to discuss options for two (2) events to be held in Brazil in 2018. We will circulate an agenda prior to the meeting.
