The Brazilian Economy is a publication of the Getulio Vargas (FGV) Foundation’s Brazilian Institute of Economics.
FGV is a private, nonpartisan, non-profit institution established in 1944 and is devoted to research and teaching of social sciences as well as to environmental protection and sustainable development. The Brazilian Institute of Economicwas established in 1951 and works as the “ThinkTank” of the Getulio Vargas Foundation. It is responsible for calculation of the most used price indices and business andconsumer surveys of the Brazilian economy.
The Institute of Brazilian Issues is a forum for exploring U.S.-Brazilian issues thoroughly and positively. While IBI activities stress the need for effective management of economic and business questions, they inevitably treat the broader national contexts into which these questions fit. These efforts strive to achieve two major goals.
