Private breakfast with Minister of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services Marcos Jorge de Lima

On February 27, the Council hosted a breakfast discussion with Brazil’s Minister of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services Marcos Jorge de Lima and his delegation, including Foreign Trade Secretary Abrão Árabe Neto, and President of the Brazilian Agency for Industrial Development Luis Augusto Ferreira, at Baker McKenzie in Washington D.C.

The meeting served as a platform for a conversation on the Ministry’s priorities for 2018, including: the next steps for U.S.-Brazil regulatory cooperation; Brazil’s campaign to join the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD); the status of the U.S.-Brazil Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) agreement; Brazil and Mercosul relations; and Brazil’s trade priorities with other trading partners.
