On October 11, 2011, the Brazil-U.S. Business Council (BUSBC) will be offering its members U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) compliance training. Jay Darden and Joseph Brand of Patton Boggs LLP will provide BUSBC members an overview of current FCPA enforcement policies and best practices for companies and individuals operating overseas to ensure compliance with U.S. anti-corruption laws and to protect a company in the event of a U.S. government investigation.

Importance of FCPA Compliance for Multinational Companies

The enforcement of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (“FCPA”) remains a critical priority for both the Department of Justice and the Securities and Exchange Commission. Prosecuting individuals has also been a focal point of the U.S. government’s deterrent efforts.  With FCPA investigations across industry sectors becoming more common and challenging, companies from all industries must make FCPA compliance and the creation of effective anticorruption programs a top priority.

This event is member only. If you would like to participate, please contact Mariana M. Yazbek at myazbek@uschamber.com.
